An installation guide for the GTK+ libraries, including GLib, can
be found here
Meant to do this a while back, so this seems like a very appropriate time: the link to GLib on the Linux download page (http://www.gtk.org/download-linux.html) has been out of date for a while. It shows 2.14 and a link to it as the latest. The link on the Windows download page is at 2.16.2 (so not a huge difference, at least).
